Prayer Requests - January 2026

Prayer Laborers,

This month please pray for goals in our key operation areas as we begin the 2026 school year. Thank you for interceding on behalf of Courage Youth staff, schools and, most importantly, Courage Youth learners.

Class & Club 

Goal:  Our goal is to achieve 2,000 strong Life Coach - learner relationships.

Progress:  We thank God for the connections already formed with learners in 2025. We are trusting God for all our returning learners to remain within our program.

Prayer Request:  Help us grow and strengthen these relationships.  Give our Life Coaches wisdom and consistency.  Let our clubs be a safe space for learners and a space to transform lives. 

Careers

Goal:  To do CLii assessments as part of the onboarding process for all  learners joining Courage Youth (new this year), and to complete assessments for current members who haven’t done so in the past.

Progress:   Life Coaches are preparing to assist with the dramatic increase in assessments this year.

Request:   We pray that by the end of 2nd term (June) every CY member will have completed their Clii inventory and have their report.

Compassion

Goal:  Successful emotional support for staff members through debriefing sessions with qualified therapists.    

Progress:  Continuation of regular debriefing sessions initiated in 2025.

Request:  Effective care for the caregivers, especially Life Coaches and social workers, dealing daily with the trauma, grief, and family dysfunction that are a way of life for many of our learners.

Organization

Goal:  Successful launch of full CYSA programs at Thabisang Primary School (younger learners) and Thuto-Mfundo Community Learning Centre (learners who have aged out of traditional schools).

Progress:  CYSA program has been introduced and accepted at both sites.

Request:  God to give us the wisdom to expand successfully within the staff and financial resources we have.

Growth

Goal:  Double the footprint/impact of Courage Youth within three years (end of 2028), from 9 sites in 2026 to 18 sites by the end of 2028.

Progress:  We are trusting God for recruiting at least five new Life Coach apprentices and one additional social worker in 2026.  Life Coach apprenticeship is 6-12 months based on prior CYSA exposure.  Each site requires at least two Life Coaches.   

Request:  Direct cost for each new site is about $15,000.  Please pray that we will be able to raise that amount for our two new sites over and above giving in 2025.
