A Future Found. . . and Passed On

In South Africa, many boys witness more violence than most adults ever experience.

Substance use doesn’t sit on the sidelines of that reality, it exacerbates it. What starts as a way to cope with the challenges of life quickly becomes part of a cycle of violence.

Your generosity interrupts this pattern… creating a path toward healing for boys like Bokamosho.

“Bokamosho” means “future.” And his story is one of transformation.

Bokamosho came to Setshabelo Family and Child Services (SFCS) seeking recovery from substance abuse. He joined a program we offer called “Ke Moja,” meaning “I am fine without drugs.”

It was in these sessions, and through the care you made possible during his darkest hours, that he found the courage to enter a rehabilitation program and begin overcoming his addiction.

After completing rehabilitation, Bokamosho returned to SFCS and joined the Men Championing Change program. As part of a community of men committed to growth and accountability, his sense of purpose and renewal deepened.

As his sense of purpose grew, Bokamosho made a powerful decision… to give back.

He stepped forward as a facilitator in our Thaba Nchu programs, now working with youth, men, and boys facing many of the same challenges he once did. He says it was the support and guidance he received from SFCS that inspired him to take on this role.

Today, he shares this message with others:

“I urge you to seek help and not die alone. Get help in all corners where help is available to be received.”

Because of you, the cycle is being broken. Young men like Bokamosho are not only finding healing, they are becoming leaders, guiding others toward a different path. Thank you for making that possible.
